Cat H storage

Post by S O K A R » 20 Apr 2022, 10:07 am

So I'm getting a new safe later in the week that is approved for cat H storage.
Question being are you able to store handguns in the main part of the safe with rifles/shotguns etc or do they need to be in their own separate compartment?
Safe wall thickness is 3mm and door thickness is 6mm, which is fine for cat H in Tasmania.
Just doesn't specify if they have to be stored separately to other firearms or not.
If anyone can shed some light that would be great.

Thanks.

As long as your safe meets the highest requirement for any firearms stored inside it you'll be fine.
You can also store anything non-firearm related in there too (except ammunition, obviously) as long as only suitably licensed people have access.
