portable shooting table suggestions

Can anyone recommend a good compact portable shooting table, with or without integral chair. Are the ones with the integral chain any good or too rickety?Tired of lugging my bunnings fold out table and drummers stool around, unless I have to. Dont need match level rest, this is mostly testing hunting loads rimfire and centrefire under 200 yards.

I did use a folding picnic table with folding seats down two sides.

It was perfectly adequate but you do need to be aware that you are connected to the table, I prefer a separate seat, a milk crate is good. The top of it was just masonite so it didn't last long in the weather but I kept using for a long while with holes through the top. It had the advantage of being quite compact when folded and very, very light, but not sturdy or long-lasting.

Mostly I just go prone and shoot off a bipod or bag but I've also built some sturdier benches using yellow-tongue flooring, this is nicer when the ground is really swampy.

Thanks fellas, this forum is a great resource! Those bunnings craftable mods look good, not sure I can fit them in the car, will check. Wonder if I could just take it out flat pack style, aka screw on the top ply when I get to the destination

That's what I do.

I buddy of mine has one of the aluminium tressels with a marine ply top. Top is 2 pieces with a piano hinge, one head is cut like a shooting benches you see at rifle ranges. I think from memory he added extra holes in the legs for adjustment of the legs.

The thing is the style of work benches like I used are about the right height.

The folding bench works well. The top I use is thick, and in two pieces. I clamp it in the bench vice and then put bolts with wing nuts through it. When separated into the three parts it is more portable.

Yes here is my version I doubled the holes in leg adjustments in all honesty I would quadruple that.

If you look in the first pic you will see that in the front leg assembly I have put a diagonal piece of aluminium to give it rigidity it needs it .
It is on the rear leg assembly as well in the opposite direction

I’d have a look at one of the Caldwell tables from Basspro. They come with an integrated chair.

I agree.

I've often wondered if 3 hinged legs would be better than a work bench.

Yeah I reckon so I'm about to make up a new rear end of my bench a flat piece of aluminium Bar goes from foot-to-foot it will be 4 to 6" higher there will be one leg in the middle heaps better for uneven ground.
But then there is this I am reluctant to change anything this it is at 1205y and no sight change and 4 different loads and 3 pills .

Stop winging/boasting. What you do at 200 I do at 100 yards. Lol

Bunnings has these.
I'm thinking of discarding the bench and fitting these direct to the bench. Just need to fold or easily attached.
