African shooting sticks- tripod

I'm an avid shooting sticks user. But when sitting for long periods on a small seat they just don't cut the mustard. They can fall over and not as good as a tripod. And you cant really put the rifle down. So, tried a trigger stick, heavy, would not go low enough. Tried three sticks tied together with string or elastic, again not flash.

So, this is my third go i think, and
made out of old TV arial alluminium tube and will give it a real test in a week or so. I have noticed they are not as quick to adjust as traditional shooting sticks. But, rock solid. So more suited to ambushing than fox whistling where you moving a fair bit from place to place.

One of the three sticks needs to be about 3"-4" shorter than the other two. If all three are same length it just doesnt work well. The longer two are about 1100mm long. I just used a shoe lace for the knot.

They have a point to give better grip and it's just a pointed bolt araldited in the bottom end.

I like it. I like it a lot. ESP seeing they weigh nothing and collapsed they slip thru the bush easy . Glad you reminded me of this because the next place I’m likely to visit has more vegetation than I’m used to so prone of a bipod won’t work. But prone of a bipod at night with thermal up close both the for and rear of the rifle is well supported and bullets can be placed with absolute precision

I have since found that a couple of cable ties stop the string from slipping over the end of the short stick.
(Could use string I guess)
