Gun safes weaknesses to avoid?

Post by Turkle » 02 Sep 2013, 2:54 pm

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new gun safe and am wondering about gun safe weaknesses which I should try to avoid.

At the moment I have a regular 'gun safe' which is really not much more than a well built locker. Time to get something a bit more proper.

Obviously all the gun safe brands talk up there stuff, saying it has this and that but don't talk about safe weaknesses. No one says "Our gun safes are great except for X, Y and Z weaknesses".

Where to look?

Any advice appreciated. Cheers.

Google or youtube for some of the gun safe manufacturers safe sales videos. A lot of them have stuff like "our ******* system prevents safe breaks by...." and so on.

Should give you an intro into common problems and solutions.

I was speaking with one of the guys at Spika who seemed like a good guy. Told me that their top end stuff is about identical to the browning stuff but a bit cheaper.

Maybe do some research yourself to confirm, but he seemed like a legit guy. Something for you to look into...
