DIY shooting rest

Post by cruze82 » 24 Jun 2014, 9:37 pm

So I decided to make a rifle rest for sighting in today
it has to suit many guns so I made it fully adjustable
It end up costing me about $15 I had to pick up a couple of things from bunnings

its not quite done yet it needs adjustable feet for levelling, clean up all welds, coat of paint and some padding on the rest points

good job mate

might need to look at the point at the rear where the pistol grip sits on the rest. the recoil of the rifle might cause the stock to jump up but i guess you wont know till you shoot it

Guys,

Bit more of an update... some clean up of the rest was done today and the legs added and all adjustment screws

To answer some questions the rest was built at home in the garage (pics were taken in the bar/reloading shed out the back) it just needs some more tidy up and a coat of paint a or I could DIY cerakote it for some practice also still needs the foam padding to be put on
and the level to be fixed in place

As for how it shoots off that is the million dollar question! ill let you know when its done

And to add to another thread Favourite beer thread its my homebrew in the shed last pic :D

Pretty safe bet that the missus will be pissed when you explain the hole in the brickwork is because you wanted to shoot the foam off a brew
See you on the firing line.

Have you tried Clarke Rubber scrap bin for "Memory Foam" ? Just cut to shape with a electric carving knife.
