Tikka T3 accessories question

Post by BradZ » 05 Dec 2014, 1:37 pm

Hey guys, my new rifle will be here in about a week, so I'm looking at getting a few bits for it.

I've used a mates t3 before and it had a like a neoprene sleeve on the butt that held 10 or so rounds. I want to get one for mine but have no idea what they're called or where to get one.

Can anyone help? Thanks

I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Yeah mate.

Any gun store will stock something similar.

Or order online from anywhere. No problem shipping one in.

All good, got one on the way. Thanks guys.

Couple of other questions though, where can I buy a bipod from?

And also I got some rounds for the gun and the bloke only had 64 grain winchesters, ive heard I might need to adjust my scope a bit cause they drop more than other bullets?

What grain do you guys use? I would normally go 55 grain

That would depend on what your shooting???? 55Grn is a good all-round projectile in 0.224 IMHO

Feral pigs, goats etc. Medium sized game.

Maybe the occasional bunny but thats usually for s**ts and giggles.

55gr...

Heaps for rabbits, cats, foxes and foxes obviously. Feral dogs... Head shots on goat would do it all day long too.

There are pigs and there are pigs.

Tikka .223 has a pretty fast twist, 1:8 I think, which will let you shooter heavier bullets up to around the 75gr -80gr weight.

If goats and pigs is what you're regularly going for I'd load something a bit heavier than the 55gr. That's what I'd do personally anyway.
