i ordered a 1/3hp @1400rpm but i don't think it will be enough as the tub full will be 26 to 30lb

this is a couple of pics of a tumbler i built 20 years ago when i was pistol shooting

in the 1st is where the singer sewing machine motor went and the 2nd where the

o ring belt went and the 240V dimmer was the speed controller.

i didn't get much done today i have to do more load work on my 6mm but i got the base cut now to find a welder

not much progress (life sucks without a shed) but i am still waiting for the motor

and the pulleys so i can do a proper mockup and mod where i have to.

hmm i think i will shorten the base by about 5 or 6 inch's for a start

Bugger alright, looks like the moon shot is off. :thumbsdown:
The 1/3hp will be lenty strong enough, onces it's geared down to low range first to get a slow enough drum speed you'll be good to go.
Build looks like it's comming along nicely.

Are you saying you've spent nearly $700 so far on this thing? :shock: You can buy em for around $200 for one of the red or black versions.

Scott that's us price and then there's $137us to get it here and at the moment that's $520 and don't forget there to small

and i had to get this haha so i added the price of it as well .

inverter welder and it's a good bit of kit better than the old block on wheels type .

the welding shield is for size reference ....

too slow i will put up the vid when all these rubber necks go to bed and i get some speed here for the computer

it's doing 40rpm so a bigger pully on the motor will fix that , it is only a 1400rpm donk .

but i may just do a batch and just see what happens after 2 hours
