Lee enfield firing pin removal tool

Post by Historical » 08 Dec 2015, 8:35 pm

Hey guys,

As the title says, just wondering if anyone knows of any places in AUS that stock the Lee enfield firing pin removal tool. Or if any has had experience with a decent brand that makes these, as there seems to be a lot flimsy ones on the market and unfortunately I don't have the right tools to make one. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info Varmtr but alas the response from arrowmark was as follows, Cheers anyway mate.

"Unfortunately due to several factors, we have decided to suspend production of our armourers tools and gauges. We may reintroduce the range at a later date, and will keep the option open, but in the meantime, all stock is sold out."

Surprised to see them there but there are actually a few on ebay if you take a look.

I know you said Aus but you couldn't order one internationally couldn't you?

Shipping wouldn't be much and I'm 99% sure customs wouldn't have a problem with it?

Hey Wobble I had been looking at the ebay ones as a last resort and that's what I've ended up doing. There are no concerns that I am aware of, with getting them shipped to Australia.

I have to just heard that some out there are of poor quality and do not last long and thought they were a bit over priced. Was just hoping someone may of had a good experience with a company in Australia and I'd try to support local. Cheers though mate!

Was curious what the tool was for, found this while browsing.
Someone simply cut down a 6mm metric socket, even if you dont have anything to grind, a file would do the job by itself.

There shouldn't be.

Maybe you can have them label the contents as "tools" and avoid using the word firearm or firing pin, just to avoid setting off the customs alarm

I suspect that might be more counter-productive than you'd like

Didn't realise this post was still going, sorry guys.

Thanks sbd3927, I did come across that guide to making one from a socket and had thought about it. Unfortunately I'm a bit pedantic to a fault a wanted something purposely machined for the job as I heard of the sockets failing a few times. For future reference if anyone comes across this post, picked up one from ebay that was very well made and should last a life time. Not many on ebay and the only one that was coming from France so should help you find it and as mention there was no problem at all getting it shipped here.

Cheers for the help guys!

I want to write that on a box that just has a shirt or something in it to see if it triggers an inspection
