Cheap inconspicuous light lockable ammo box!

Post by Mr.Seacucumber » 16 Apr 2016, 11:25 am

So I picked up this box for $2 at a garage sale Image

Then went to Clark Rubber and the nice lady their helped me get some foam and measure it all out, I then used double sided tape to stick it to the lid. after that I get a decent luggage lock from Bunnings and ta da! Something to transport my ammo in from the safe to the car to range to the property :)

nice job. Anyone that sees it is likely to think it's just a few rusty old tools inside

put some random fishing stickers on it.... but then it would probably be stolen for fishing gear...

Why the padding?

I keep the bolt in there as well and didn't want it banging around, plus I thought it looked a little bit nicer :)

I like the MTM 50Cal Ammo cans, reasonably cheap at around $30. Police cannot deny their legality as they're in the photo of what's deemed acceptable containers for safe storage of ammunition in NSW. I lock these box with a pair of 40mm padlocks and then lock them in a big safe as 2k worth of ammo in a small box needs the added protection.

I'd piss the foam off, it's taking up too much space and not needed at all, other than that it should do the job nicely I reckon.

He should cut a bit from his missus Yoga Mat to replace the foam.
