A lot of people seem to have problems with dampness in their safe.
I'm wondering if there may be some correlation with having the safe bolted down (when on concrete floors)
It could be very easy for unwary and uninitiated people, when drilling for the masonry anchour bolts to actually pierce
the damp proof membrane.
Even worse,, to not only pierce the membrane, but to actually break right through the slab itself. (some slabs aren't all that thick)
especially in homes, sheds, that have been built by owner builders.
In a situation like that, there is then a direct path for moisture to rise into a gun safe.
Very feasible.
If you think that the possibility of piercing the membrane or drilling right through the slab exists,,,
A good solution would be to use "Chemi Set Studs" instead of a normal masonry anchor bolt.
As the glue compound is mixed and sets in the hole with the stud,, it seals itself against any rising damp.
Just my two bobs worth for a solution.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
