Depends on what you want to do with it BUT anything other than Rem-Oil which is like using WD-40.

Ballistol & / or Inox on a rag for wiping over everything. Tetra Gun for a patch through the bore in between usage.

Don't live anywhere near the coast salt air so really nothing special and no problems in the past 50 years.

As mentioned earlier. Lanox is great or any light oil such as sewing machine or light engine oil. For areas that are load bearing such as BA lugs or locking mechanism on a shot gun use a small dab of bearing grease.Mineral oil and timber dont mix, dont over do it.

Inox for lube, or dry lube if it's gonna be heaps dusty. Pro-shot IV for the bore.

Inox, Lanox, sewing Machine oil, G96, WD-40 specialist and a million others work, just find whatever you are happy to use and get stuck in, I like the lanox myself, it's lanolin based so does a great job of rust protection and ya rifle smells like a sheep so not some offensive foreign smell that some leave behind which may spook game.

 Got some Rem Oil too, I haven't had an issue with it either, seems to work fine as far as I can tell.

I use INOX and find it great. The INOX website says ....

For use in Firearms, LANOX is best used for long term storages purposes whereas INOX has better applications for the day to day cleaning and lubrication (anti-static) so it doesn’t attract dirt and helps clean barrel residues easier.

Only thing you have to be careful with Inox is it can have an effect on rubber over time (according to the info on their website) other than that go for it I say, I use it and Lanox regularly without any issues so far and will keep using it as it's not over priced like the "Gun Oils" which are way over priced for what they are and they really don't do anything more that this stuff does anyway I don't reckon.

Oh, my mistake. But perhaps they still use it for firearms. :)

Yeah, I only it on the metal parts. Their website says Inox is ok on timber and plastic.

Out of curiosity, what does everyone use for cleaning the bore of centrefires? Some of the foaming bore cleaners look pretty good.

Usually Sweets 7.62. these days. But just for a quick clean after just a few shots Ed's red. Sweets is the superior though.

These are what I use 99.9% of the time - bores seem clean going by the Bore scope so happy to keep using them.

I used the Boretech products and quite like them, just bought a big bottle of Butch's Bore Shine to see if it works as well as I've heard. For oil I mainly use M-Pro7 to oil slides and protect the bore, Tetra grease for locking lugs and a spray on aerosol product for the outsides.
