Nice one, what brand is it etc? I just run my 6-7 year old LED Lenser P7 on mine and it does the job fine, wouldn't mind something a little more powerful though.
Sucks about your ankle, I've come a gutser a few times while out alone and it make you think how much worse it could have been, doesn't stop me heading out again though, luckily I haven't had an injury that's left me incapacitated for a period or time like yourself, that would drive me nuts, specially with a new rifle that needs to get some runs on the board. Hope it heals quickly for you.

it's an OLIGHT M3 X it's good for 350 yards as long as there is no haze and around here

that's just about impossible as we are right next the ocean as they are such a white light

6000K , I used to use it on my 223 .

and I hear you on the alone bit you should have seen me when I was doing fire wood on

my own I had more safety gear than a shop haha but if you have seen a saw gash you

would know why as they tear flesh not cut .

Sounds like a good light might look into getting one.
I've seen some pics of wounds from chainsaw bites.....no thanks, I think I'd rather be shot..

Here's my little rig, I think it needs a spotlight upgrade but I think kitty cat disagrees..... :D

Cheers...

I've had feeding problems with one brand/type of ammo if I put more than 7-8 rounds in, they were the Winny superspeed/bushman, the points catch on the way into the chamber for some reason, haven't had any dramas with anything else that I can think of, I still use the Winchester rounds though as they shoot nice out of that rifle. From memory I had the occasional failure to feed with the 5 shot mag using Remington CBEE22 subs, but they were a little hit and miss in the accuracy department so I tend not to use them and whatever I have left will be used for plinking at some stage.

Looks like a good mounting system for quick on and off, where did you purchase it from?

That's a CZ poly in mine, have had no dramas with my favourite ammo for this rifle (Federal American Eagle) in either the CZ 10 or the Lithgow 5 shot mags so don't feel the need to tinker but if I ever do I'll pick your brain on how to go about it.

Yes please, a link would be very helpful.

I just found my p7 and mount ....... I forgot about the amber filter I made for it I will get some pics

when the battery's are charged up , it was a real good bit of kit when we had rabbits around here .

the filter was made on a lathe but there is an easier way to make them you just get a milk jug top

and an orange tictac container and cut it to fit in the lid and bobs ya aunty  8-)

Nice set up D, my mate has one of the Olight Javalots and man is that thing bright and now he something else in the Olight range and it's like having the Sun in ya Light FMD that thing is insanely bright and we can light up things well out past 600-700m - just as well it has a few diff brightness setting or we would just blind things with it instead of shooting em

The one you're using would be fine for a 22 D, I find the brighter they are the less the animals want to look at them for too long anyway so not really needed 99% of the time but handy to find eyes out at long distances and bloody good flood set up on them too which is pretty good and also has a moonlight function which is good for walking around with as it's not real bright and saves on batteries etc.

I just looked before and at $200 + i'll stay with these they only cost me $80

and with a good scope and no haze you can use it at 400y.

on the 22 I just use them on low beam but when they get a bit toey I use the

p7 on low with a filter .

Yeah not cheap D but bloody brilliant lights none the less (really nice light to use with scopes) but as I said animals can be a bit sensitive to the brightness if you run them full on.

yes that's why I only run a 55w bulb in my powabeam spotty on the roof and never went near the hid stuff

that and the fact that the hid doesn't come on strait away so useless as a spot light AFAIC

3 dollar special from deal extreme mounted on the CZ 17hmr varmint. Good for 120 meters and has a really tight throw, no spill. The old P7 is good for the 22LR and gives some spill, good for running shots. Scope mount is a P7 bike mount, otherwise I just attach the light to the swivel mount. I find too bright a torch on the 22 LR spooks the animals at rimfire distances.
