Bushie, do you realise it's 18M? They are meant for home and trade use like measuring up for carpet etc. I can't see it being much use for shooting.

I've got a Bushnell Scout 1000 DX ARC for sale, if you're interested make an offer.
I paid $650 for the Bushnell new only a few months ago but I needed something that ranged further.
The Bushnell ranges 350/400 yards with ease but becomes selective about it's targets after that.

The SIG Sauer that I've replaced it with is much better. It ranges 1000m with ease and it cost less than the Bushnell

That was me. I didn't buy one but worth a try. But you can get cheap golf rangers on eBay too.

That looks pretty good.

I think the furthest I've ranged is a little over 700m with it. Generally it works fine out to 600m or so.

You're not much of a salesman OOW. I was thinking of making an offer, then I got to the second paragraph and thought "Well screw that, I'll just get a SigSauer instead"

Bought this a few weeks ago. The furthest target I ranged was 636m. Didn't have anything further to range so cant comment on further than that.

Personally I would just save up $400-$500 or there abouts and buy something half decent that will do the job reliably and for years to come, these cheap things aren't what I would call a good buy, the good ones have illuminated readouts and allow for incline/decline etc and have quick readouts etc.

Need to check the fine print (which I couldn't find online) but those cheapy ebay ones saying 1000y... No way.

That will be off reflective surfaces only I'm sure, a fact that'll be buried in tiny print on the box somewhere.

I reckon they'd be less than half what they're quoting, to work reliably anyway.

I'm sure being able to range 600yards is great. But wouldn't 350 be enough for 95% of hunting?

For sure on kill shots, but practicing shooting at longer ranges improves your shorter-range abilities.
It's also good for other things, navigation or as a simple monocular, and it's a very useful tool to train yourself to judge ranges by eye.

Can confirm the the ALDI rangefinder is absolutely fine upto 700 yards or so, have compared it alongside a Bushnell and Leupold RF and found it very acceptable.
