Online store recommendations

Post by Goshawk » 06 May 2017, 9:38 am

Hi All,
Has anyone used the following online stores? What was your experience like? Would you use them again?
After read the ITAR crap, I think I will try to by a Photon XT here in Australia.

1. Scopedout.com.au
2. Supplydrop.com.au
3. australiantacticalprecision.com.au

Supplydrop seems to have an address associated to Safari Firearms in SYD but the website also informs me its in QLD?

I apologize if I have put this in the wrong topic area.

Cheers

High end stuff but Stuart and Annie Elliot are good folks and both are extremely competent BR shooters.

No affiliation, just have had good experiences with BRT.

eBay store
1300 hunting
Stuff arrives promptly and at a good price. They have even special ordered a few hard to get reloading bits for me that also arrived within the ETA.

Don't recall ever using any of those.
Ozscopes has some of them listed as available and the prices aren't too outrageous compared to the US. The 6.5x50S is AU$980 and US$650 on Opticsplanet. Being electrical I'd probably want local warranty.

Try ebay, I've noticed the pricing to be even cheaper often with free postage.

Really, I found 1300Hunt REALLY expensive on everything. Except, wait for it, wait for it, ammo - very reasonably priced ammo. But everything else is quite expensive. But on the flip side, they have really cool stuff that nobody else stocks.

I can't remember the pricing to be honest. I just remember they had some hard to get stuff and were able to order in some specialised bits that no one else stocked and get it to me promptly. They were also quick to reply to any correspondence. So the service was certainly good, I don't recall thinking they were ripping me off. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong one, the store is based in beaumauris, have I got the right shop?

Have used scopedout a couple of times. Always been great to deal with. Have even thrown in a free vortex hat with a larger order.
