I was hoping to break in the barrels as well. What do I need to take apart from the obvious?

I'll take the .22 and I'm not sure if I should take any other calibre as well. It will be my first time at a range and want to sight my scope in

As much ammo as you can carry!
Note pad and pen (I use the four-colour pens).

Eye protection.
A hat.
Allen keys to fit the scope rings and mounts, and the action screws.
A multi-tool is always handy.
Patches so you don't need to keep replacing targets. Take a photo of your shots, then patch it. Or if you get lots of different coloured patches just note which colours were which ammo.

I've never been to a range but I always collect my brass so you might want a brass catcher or a screen.

You don't need to break in factory barrels, they've already being fired before they left the factory.

Don't take the centrefire though. Just the .22, they are easy to clean. Centrefire gets very dirty and then you will never be able to get the bore back to the same condition. Best to keep them fresh.

scaredyet wrote:I'm going indoor St Mary's. How do we take the rifearm to the range? Does the magazine and bolt need to be removed? How much time do we get? Is there a limit?

Your in NSW there is no reason to remove the bolt or magazine when transporting a firearm (Rifle ) in the boot is ok in a bag . take you ammo in a locked box cash box from Bunning $20 would do
When you go to the range at St Mary the firearm must be covered they don,t want you walking round in car park with guns on view, no weird rules tell them you a new bee and they will run you through the safety and how to call a Ro to you for assistance @ at st mary you can load your mag pump action and lever are ok too take you rimfire and c/f you may as well you payed for the shoot so shoot they can limit your time to 1 hour when real busy but i have never been asked to leave Ever
if you at at later date go to Malabar range they like the bolts out unless firing them only weird rule they have

Yeah I know it's about time I got of my ass and down to the range. I'll just take the .22 as it's my first go.
