Why do you think I'm full of s**t Happyhunter? I'm curious to know. I'm happy to provide receipts and proof to make you happy. I already posted a link above. I don't think there's a problem with buying firearms and not shooting them.

Not a big deal. He will shoot them when he gets time I guess. Might be a boy scout, getting prepared.

I would have liked to start shooting but I only have one scope and that's fitted into my .223 I bought a scope for my .22 which the advice from my LGS and when I tried to mount it onto my firearm it didn't fit and looks out of place anyway. It was a 50 objective for a .22 you see being a newbie I didn't know at the time what to get and what to do with the rifle and I'm still learning now. I will shoot when the times right

When I get the parts for my Adler I will upload them as well. As I said I'm a person that likes to modify/improve things. Yes I understand I should shoot first but this is me.

Get out with that 22 stick a simple bushnell 3-9x40 or 4-12 x40 and put a few thousand down range.

I'm calling bulls**t, why would you spend thousands of dollars on items you don't use? I think that you are either a nut job or full of s**t.

Pretty good idea not to attack other people as well...before you click "submit" ask yourself if your comments add any value to the discussion.

I'm going to the range this Monday to test out some of my rifles at last.

I was hoping to break in the barrels as well. What do I need to take apart from the obvious?

I'll take the .22 and I'm not sure if I should take any other calibre as well. It will be my first time at a range and want to sight my scope in

If it's bolt action .22 then maybe some oil and boresnake. If it's lever or pump - niddle nose pliers, oil and boresnake. But not really needed, just in case a case gets stuck, which almost never happens.

Hearing protection. A must.
Drink, snaks, sunscreen, bug spray.

Chamber flag, target and target frames you buy there. Hammer to get the frame into the ground you get there.

Maybe some gaffer tape to fix up the target so you don't have to buy new one while sighting in.

That's about it... Everything else will kind of just appear in your bag organically. Don't anticipate it.

I'm going indoor St Mary's. How do we take the rifearm to the range? Does the magazine and bolt need to be removed? How much time do we get? Is there a limit?

As much ammo as you can carry!
Note pad and pen (I use the four-colour pens).

Eye protection.
A hat.
Allen keys to fit the scope rings and mounts, and the action screws.
A multi-tool is always handy.
Patches so you don't need to keep replacing targets. Take a photo of your shots, then patch it. Or if you get lots of different coloured patches just note which colours were which ammo.

I've never been to a range but I always collect my brass so you might want a brass catcher or a screen.

You don't need to break in factory barrels, they've already being fired before they left the factory.

Don't take the centrefire though. Just the .22, they are easy to clean. Centrefire gets very dirty and then you will never be able to get the bore back to the same condition. Best to keep them fresh.

Your in NSW there is no reason to remove the bolt or magazine when transporting a firearm (Rifle ) in the boot is ok in a bag . take you ammo in a locked box cash box from Bunning $20 would do
When you go to the range at St Mary the firearm must be covered they don,t want you walking round in car park with guns on view, no weird rules tell them you a new bee and they will run you through the safety and how to call a Ro to you for assistance @ at st mary you can load your mag pump action and lever are ok too take you rimfire and c/f you may as well you payed for the shoot so shoot they can limit your time to 1 hour when real busy but i have never been asked to leave Ever
if you at at later date go to Malabar range they like the bolts out unless firing them only weird rule they have

Yeah I know it's about time I got of my ass and down to the range. I'll just take the .22 as it's my first go.
