Lucky I got a talented wife. This is a simple over the shoulder sling. Will get her to make a safari sling next!! :drinks:

Nice one mate - I made one years ago out of skippy skin it's still going strong - isn't as flash as that one though.

Yeah should come out well . I really want to get my hands on some croc leather but it's bloody exxy that's just paracord when the missus makes the safari style I'll get her to weave some spent brass thru it :drinks:

Unfortunately she messed up the length and had to unravel this one and hasn't gotten a chance to start again yet but will post more pics when she gets it done! :drinks:

I bought one of those paracord slings, too bloody uncomfortable for me.

Here's the ol Roo Skin Sling I made as a teenager many many years ago, still going strong to this day and no doubt will see me out and probably my kids and grand kids too. I can't remember if I bothered tanning it as such, but I do remember breaking the hide on a wire fence which worked a treat and made it nice and supple, I recently gave it a bit of leather dressing to keep it supple too, other than that it's had nothing done to it what so ever.

It's lovely to use, it doesn't dig into you at all and it wraps around the forearm perfectly to aid in getting a steady aim.

Yeah DB it's great fun making stuff yourself, much more satisfying than just buying something off the shelf I find. My way of looking at it is if I can make it I will, if not I will have to rely on someone else's ability to do so. :D

Nah mate very nice and looks very authentic don't get much of that these days nylons , plastics ,Kevlar all good mind you :o :o
but they haven't got that Aussie authenticity like when you make it yourself
