DIY cheek riser

Post by Oldbloke » 09 Jan 2018, 4:09 pm

Just thought I would post this. Made today from a scrap of leather and a piece of high density foam from an old camp bed. Two needles and builders line. Took about 90 minutes. Suprisingly firm and doesn't even look like moving.

Happy with it so two more to go.

Did you stuff the leather or just place it over the foam? A few loops on the offside for cartridges would finish it nicely. I've been thinking of doing something similar. :drinks:

The foam is just sitting under the leather. Very simple to make. Want it higher, just add more foam.

I don't need the loops. Generally just carry a couple of spares in the pocket.

I don't know... There's a fine line between DIY awesome and 'meh, I'll just buy one'. Under AUD9 including shipping:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Portabl ... 24312.html

I am pretty happy with mine.

Yep, not fussed but brown or black would be better. Also it moved when I used it Monday, so I think some double sided tape between the stock and foam will fix that.
