Post by eddahenry » 02 Feb 2018, 9:18 pm

I have been using a Caldwell Fire Control Front rest for about 6 months now and for the cash its a pretty good unit ,, it aint no SEB or Farley but it aint 1000s either ,

ther is just a few thing i really dislike about it and want to change this thread will be used to show you guys and girls what i dont to it
things i want to change
The Tension Screws
The front bag
the Length of the rear leveling foot (its to long)
So First up is what i attacked tonight
The tension Screws !!
As this Rest is a Joystick Rest it has 4 tension screws on the front that require a Alan key to adjust , being a cheap rest constant adjusting is required for smooth operation with different guns of different weights , they can also vibrate lose in hte car ,, and if you forget the alan key well your gunna hate your day at the range
here is how it is adjusted stock

That's good news mate, I'd definitely buy some if you knock a few more out as there seems to be a demand to sort this issue out to make them the best they can be.

Well worth thinking about as there would be plenty of these out there that could be improved with such a setup like you've made.

Thanks mate
I may do
Im just mucking around making replacements for these
Image
they look so ugly with the gold bling out the front now lol
I am also going to make a short rear levelling leg as its long length gets in the way of the joystick ,, well it does for me anyway
if it all works out ill make a few extra sets

and it was but its fits ,, winning
also made a delrin front stop to replace the rubber one that was now to short
