The best size hunting party

Just wondering what you guys think the best size hunting party is?

Curious after the talks on Inland Hunting Properties needing 6 blokes which seems like a lot. A few of you guys mentioned the same.

So what do you think? What's the best size to maximise your chances while not tripping over each other?

I usually go with 2 or max 3 mates.

Obviously with more people you can cover more ground and increase the groups chances of catching something.

Potentially flush something out from one hunter into the path of another too.

Any more than that though and there isn't enough forest to go around I reckon.

4 in a group max IMO.

Safety is a concern too.

Obviously you need to know where your partners are so you know you're shooting in a safe direction and don't risk firing in their direction.

With 2-3 friends it's usually easy enough to take one side of a hill each. Or 1 valley each. What ever the terrain is.

Any more than that and you risk overlapping each other.

3-4 IMO.

Pretty sure the ladies prefer candles to torches...

And also restaurants to the bush...

Seems someone changed their minds and decided it was a good idea to follow us up the scrub with their 308 and shoot a few rounds off 500 yrds behind us, at 54 you think this bloke would have known better

Not sure what thoughts you might have but since I had my wife and 10 yr old daughter with me, mine were pretty wild I can tell you!

Who F!@#@^#K Knows!!! :x  :x

I've know the guy for over 5 years and hunted with compounds with him but just recently he got his Gun license and bought a Tikka 308 Battue.

He seems to have "NO" common sense when it comes to rifles! Nice Guy but F@%#@!king Dangerous with a Gun.

I didn't have to say a word as my Misses did all the talking and talking and screaming! :D :)

If he couldn't say with 100% confidence he wasn't shooting in your direction he deserved what the missus gave him I'm sure.

Lesson learned without anything going wrong anyway, be thankful for that I suppose.

Lesson Learned? WTF? My old man taught me this s**t when I was 10? Maybe I was just lucky to have a Dad that gave a s**t about others or something?

I've put my pants back on!

Sorry Mate if I came on a little strong, I wasn't worried for myself but when my wife and daughter's safety is concerned the gloves come off, especially when it was totally preventable :geek:  :ugeek:

Check out the following web site -
http://easyhunt.com/

As the blurb goes - "Free custom hunting website for individual hunters and hunting teams with calendars, hunting reports, and more. We offer web-based Hunting Maps, as well as paper and water-proof maps. Be sure to check out our Mobile App with maps and hunters' positions in realtime."

Might be a help with tracking shooting parties. I've not tried it - this Apps stuff is just s bit confusing to me.

Usually not enough people using them to make it worthwhile too.

No use having the app when the other shooters nearby don't.
