First fallow hunt and using a .243?

Game hunting and large prey. Deer stalking, hunting with hounds. Boar, pigs etc., large prey, culling, hunting large feral animals.

243 will be fine. Over here we don't have a min cal except if your on doc land I have shot them with 22hornet and up.

22 hornet is pretty chancy but if it got the job done, thst is fine. I was shooting goats with a 22 awhile back but all shots within 25m.

as long as you work within the hornets limits it seems to work. Just need to be patient and pick your shots as its not a forgiving caliber on small deer and goats.

My first fallow was with a .44 mag. A .243 would be a very good choice.

22 hornet was known as a poachers caliber in some parts of the world. It’s not hard to sneak up on goats at times. 22 mag with 50 gn solids would work well with head shots
