 That 32gn Rem and Fed 32gn ammo went well in the Howa - I was shooting from that spot and head shooting bunnies at 220m to 250m+ with it off the bipod as you see it there. :D That was the first time hunting with the rifle and I'd only put about 20rds through it when I first got it to see how it would shoot and it did fine (actually excellent) considering it was the factory Rem and Fed stuff.

Seems to go alright on the bunnies too (this lot were shot at 220-250+m using the Rem Factory 32's).

Seems ok so far mate, not that I bother going out if she's real windy anyway (rather wait for the weather to settle when its like that) but have been out with a mate in winds up around 60km/h a few years ago chasing foxes and he was still knocking em over no worries even out to 300m - I assume he was allowing for wind etc, I was running the 22.250 at that stage and didn't have any real issues hitting em at that sort of range either.

That was an interesting trip that one, bloody freezing cold, high winds and sleet but we still managed to rack up 18 foxes for the trip from memory.

I think the word is MAD!  I felt sorry for the 2 kids on the back of the 4by shooting! they must have absolutely been bloody freezing, yet they still shot a heap of foxes each!

Can do.

50mm objective, 30mm tube.

Note though my mate had to cut off the rear of his picatinny rail to fit it without going up another ring height. Look at the picture again and you'll see if you didn't notice it.

Yeah, I did see that Lorgar.

I was thinking if I'm not using the rail I may as well take it off and grub screw it. I thought it was a 50, but wasn't sure because of the stepping on the barrel.

Much appreciated mate :)

EDIT: Forgot to ask .. Are they stanrard size rings? I'm assuming not because they are black and I thought the stainless guns came with stainless rings too...

Nah, not standard rings. Too low of course...

I'd have to ask to be positive, but I'm 99% sure he's got 'high' rings there.

To keep the full rail and mount the same scope he'd have had to go with 'extra high' rings and the mounting height was getting a bit out of control then...

I'll ask next time I speak to him for you.

* Cries a little bit * They were pretty popular before the stealback in 96. And the pump versions well there seems to be a bunch out there :)
