Not in my springer pen!

Post by Windston » 13 Nov 2018, 11:11 am

Me and a mate were setting up some paper at our makeshift target range to group my new Howa 308 ultralight with the Leupold 3-9x40 VX-Freedom. Before we could even send off any rounds, we notice a dog bolting down a hill in the distance towards the springer pen! (New born calves).

He started rounding them up and circling them, and we just managed to get to a fence post and send a 308 round right into his engine block before he could single a calf out.

Pop was more than proud and gave us a rundown on how to skin and dry them ready for the council bounty. Apparently he used to do it way back when the world was black and white! :sarcasm:

He wont be doing damage anytime soon!

We were going to try out some Hornady Steel Metal Match, but when we saw the dingo we loaded up some PPU soft points, which shoots well and was zeroed for the rifle.

Well done young fella always good to see one of those mongrels down for the count but he most likely had a calf picked out before he left the top of the ridge
they don't leave anything to chance like getting down there then deciding which one, he would have been sorting them out to get at the one he had picked from the ridge most likely
cheers
