Are they rutting at the moment? Seems like a rare thing to happen.
It'll shoot the fleas off a dog's back at five hundred yards, Tannen, and it's pointed straight at your head!

No not rare at all mate, stags in rut are very dangerous and he's not the first to find out the hard way sadly, :drinks:

Heard from someone that the deer was a pet.

Deers as pets never ever work.

Pity the greenies don’t try and rescue the deers

Taken from the NZ Deer industry website

Warning: Farmed stags can be extremely aggressive to humans over the rutting period, even if they appear to be gentle at other times of the year. Be cautious around actively rutting stags. Fully antlered stags represent an extreme risk to people during the rut.

tragic event and a also a timely reminder of the risks when keeping deer as pets.

I would have thought that if you want to keep a stag as a pet, getting it gelded would be sensible. Most horse owners get their male horses gelded. Stallions are just too much of a handful.

Sounds like the Lady is doing it tough in hospital  , lucky the stags in the wild aren't as bad as the farmed/pet ones, would be interesting hunting em this time of year otherwise.

Ones scared of humans and one is used to em.

That’s a terrible situation for the mum and her poor kids. It’s really heartening to see all the practical support the community is providing.
