Very clever set of shows... (all the spin-off's)...

His sense of humour is funny, but he is better unleashing it through that platform than in person i rekon...

I'm wondering what the Whinging Pommie would think if half his family or friends were suddenly turned into dinner one night? Would he think it was a problem or not? and how would he deal with it, perhaps catch it and release it somewhere else to be someone elses problem?

Um does he even have any friends? Seems to be the kind of person akin to the cool kid in primary school who's childish bullying and smart arse behaviour alienates everyone but he/theyre too pretentious and self absorbed to notice...

I love when he tells his audience how rich he is - so he doesn’t have to do any shows and they are priveleged to be seeing him...then he laughs but there is more than an element of truth / cynicism...

Your are probably right Flutch, he'd probably get punched in the head a fair bit as a kid, might explain why he's the way he is

It's a deadset stool sample no doubt about it. :drinks:

Ricky Gervais is a talented comedian in my view. So if I needed an advice on comedy I would listen to what he had to say on that topic. Unfortunately with these media types they believe there opinion on other issues is worth listening to. If you do any pre-purchase research you will find out that lion hunting is an expensive and highly regulated undertaking. It generates a lot of revenue for local people in Africa. I work with a former game keeper from South Africa. He pointed out that they need to manage the animal population in the reserves. It makes more sense to earn $US20,000 from a hunter wanting a trophy than it does just culling the animal. Ricky appears not to care about that. He is a twat in my opinion.

I think there should be a law against oxygen thieves like him having a say on stuff they know sweet F--K all about

Well said. He's playing to his base.

Ricky can be very funny but his views are likely formed from watching "Kimba", "The Lion King" and "Born Free" (one of the lions from that project apparently later killed and ate a local - it had no fear of humans. So much for rehabilitation).
Maybe he should read "Death in the Long Grass" by Peter Capstick or "The Lions of Tsavo and Other East African Adventures" by Col. James Patterson. He might change his mind about these "majestic creatures" but I doubt it.
I am in awe of anyone - native or newcomer - who lives long term in Lion country. They would scare the bejasus out of me and I am amazed at the balls and composure of this bloke to stay focused under extreme pressure. I'd need a change of underwear.

I think this Tricky Ricky should do some home work on the culling of any animals ie culling of old and injured animals helps keep the herds strong and people who would otherwise almost likely starve fed, lions for one injured or old face a horrific death by others taking the leadership unlike being shot even though it took 2 shots another point is the money paid to obtain a permit to collect these animals goes to maintain the herds and their safety from poachers obviously some money would fall through the cracks and fill some pockets but mostly it goes to the up keep of the animals and the reserves
