I strongly urge all forum members to sign the online petition organised by the SFF party to retain duck hunting in Victoria.

https://vicshootersfishersandfarmers.us ... ecc3ac93f7

Edit; Im afraid only Victorians can vote.

Wont take South Aussies either...

I thought given we operate on Vic duck hunting laws (SA Dept Environment run all licensing through Vic, & Victoria GMA mark our tests & give out WIT accreditation...), it might allow us to sign, but not the case...

Need to be a Vic resident...

I see that Bob Carr has thrown in his 2 cents worth.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-08-18/ ... g/11424242

But Bob, with no money coming in from Duck Hunter's licence fees, who's managing duck habitat etc because I don't see the sky full of ducks down that way.
Actually, permits can be obtained for mitigation control of ducks.

I think the high volume of duck hunters who chase them every season would confirm they must taste good if prepared/cooked right. :D

I shot a few as a kid and I didn't particularly like the taste, mind you I was only 10 or so and the person cooking them wasn't what I would call a good cook (basic cooking skills).

The problem with the Petition is the high volumes of people wanting to sign it apparently (according to Ethan Boris of the SFFP) he's been onto the IT dept at Parliament House.

And Yes it is only open for Victorians to vote on sadly.

yes they do Tassie
and you can only get them by hunting, cannot be bought in a shop
they are a bit of work and the cook needs to realise they are game not domestic ducks so they need to be cooked differently
my fav is smoked whole, till the skin is crispy :drinks: yummo

signed
