Last night for the first time in many months,,, I had a mob of pigs numbering more than ( 1 ) in my sights.
To be precise,,,,, eleven adult oinkers.

I was set up on top of a hill in the middle of a large property,,,,,,, and as it turned out,,,,, one of very few spots with mobile coverage.

I was tracking the mob in the scope,,,, and had actually taken up the first pressure and miniscule seconds off firing when my phone rang.

It was none other than BLR243

I scrambled to get the phone out of my pocket,,,, and ended the call.

The pigs actually heard the ringing and veered away from the bait carcass that they were about to start feeding on.
I managed to get two out of the eleven,,,,, before they became too distant to warrant a shot.

Thanks MATE,,,,,, you couldn't have been more precise in your timing if you had been sitting alongside of me.

Maybe BLR did you a good deed.
His call should be a reminder that in "sensitive" situations the phone should have been switched to silent, or vibrate only. Problem solved.

Haha. Yes, yes...and yes.
sneaking around corner yesterday - I saw the Blackbird fly into the roof cavity and I’ve been watching the little s**t for weeks...as soon as I walk outside...gone.
But yesterday, he didn’t see me. Yesterday - he was focussed on nest building in my roof cavity. Yesterday, he was busy, crapping all over my windows and walls and roof.
I snuck, ever so slowly into position and waited for him to inevitably exit cavity and sit on gutter for a split second, before taking to the sky.
I heard the roof rattle and the gutter guard get pushed - he was coming out...
Then the wife rang my phone...in my pocket. Bitch.

When I go away bush hunting I change to Telstra sims so I can get phone and internet but nobody knows my Telstra Number so I don’t get anyone ringing me at inconvenient moments. Occasionally I hear a single bell sound comin through my ph to indicate the Arrival of an email but it’s relatively quiet so no real damage done

I do not think I have ever had a phone on me when using a firearm. Lucky I guess.

I had a situation last year foxing. Had almost walked into to two fighting in the top of a dead cow, about 25 metres from them, AND....the phone rang.
Fast little buggers when the need to.

I am getting old...sigh.
Yesterday, we had an insane weather event. Rain like over never seen. My back yard dam that is 7ft deep has only ever (5 years) been 2 ft deep - was over flowing in a few hours...truly, never seen anything like it. I must have counted 50 rabbits being flushed from their burrows and scalping off to try and find somewhere dry - I got my rifle out and did not pull the trigger once...I truly felt sorry for the poor blightes. I’m getting old...
