Hunting properties

I've had a look at the website of Inland Hunting properties, and just wondered if anyone has used them.

The cost seems to be the same for all the listed places which is a minimum of $350.

Camping is $65 and accom is $75. Now given the choice between a shearers quarters and lugging my swag, I'd cough up the extra $10.

There has only been one property in VIC on their for ages and they only claim to have foxes and rabbits.

Any state forest in VIC will do that for free, and have the chance for bigger game.

Not many people putting up their properties down here it seems.

By the way, what's the state of affairs for hunting in NSW at the moment?

I've lost track of it up there after all the bans and crap.

Back to private property and state forest hunting now?

The only thing that put me off was the minimum price and needing 6 people to meet it.

That's too many people for a hunt in one place for me...

If you got the peeps and you don't mind though, happy hunting.

I've been to a Inland Hunting Property. If you decide to do it, work out wich station you are headed to, contact the owner and make sure your timing is right.... ie roads are passable, is the game on offer abundant that time of year and has it been cleaned out by recent hunting parties.

Six people on one hunt? that's about 4 too many. It would want to be a massive place, or too big a chance of a blue on blue.

Ditto, too much of a crowd for me.

I normally go with 1-2 mates only.

I have a mate with 1,000 acres FULL of deer.

We only ever go with 4. One driving my buggy, one on gate duties and two in the back shooting.

We have got a awesome track that we can putt around on during day and still see heaps of them. Some we can get rather close to before we spook them.

I took my 2 year old daughter for a drive in buggy the other day up there, with no rifles... naturally we saw heaps of deer... it was like they knew we had no rifles as they basically watched as we drove around gully they were in

Haha, my 10 year old boy. He loves it...

Also set up a Wacoe fridge under rear seats in buggy... keeps the driver refreshed

And yes, very lucky to have a mate with a property over run with deer. No joke there is sometimes 3 deer to every roo we see up there... I'm taking kids up for a camp next week, hopefully get a deer in cross hairs of 50.. Will take some snaps...

Yeah, a mate and I went a couple of years ago.
not recommended at all!!! STAY AWAY!!!!.
We got to the property and met the farmer. he was a nice, genuine ozzy bloke that had a couple properties on offer. The website advertised this property to have pigs, goats, deer, fox's and rabbits. I was drooling!!!!.The property I chose and paid for! through inland hunting was not the property we were allowed to hunt, it was a neighbouring property, the photos on the web of the cabin was not the cabin we paid for either, we stayed in a dingy dirt tin shed with no running water etc, which would of been ok if we had been told so we could pack appropriately and didn't pay the extra money.
The property owner then tells us there is no deer (which is our main target!) no goats, no pigs. and not many rabbits.
His words exactly, "if you are coming here to get away from the city and relax, you will have a great week. But i highly doubt you will get any game. Feel free to set up targets". (we don't live in the city, so that's not why we were there)
Now, that is a totally different story to what inland hunting was selling! I also spoke with them over the phone. They do not release the owners details until you have paid, so no telling what bulls**t they are selling.
We got about 3 rabbits and that is it. Did not see anything else.
If you read the fine print, it says no refunds, if you cause trouble you will be banned. No Guarantees, if you do not get anything that's basically because you are a piss poor hunter! bulls**t!
We have been hunting deer and goats for years with success year in and year out at state forests.
Please keep your money in your pocket unless you are looking to get away from the city!!!!
Good Luck
