I am surprised that they broke under a quad, given they are designed for 4wd use. Were they cheap items by any chance??? Quality varies like everything.

Sounds like to me you are suggesting that they manufacture and sell cheap and nasty versions of the real thing ?? :unknown:

These are/were dinky di "MaxTrax", and if I'm ever desperate enough to actually use them under my Cruiser Ute I would fully expect to just drive off afterwards
and leave the pieces in the sand/mud,,,,,,,,,,,,, except that would be littering.
Unlike most of the ones seen mounted on their ridiculously priced retaining clips on top or sides of vehicles copping all the UV rays,,,,,,,,,,
mine were always stored in a dog box and completely protected from UV rays.

Once bitten,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but never again.

Well there you go. I have a pair of cheapies, which went under my 3.1T ute and got me out of the black mud no worries. Once cleaned up they were unmarked. No trees or anything to winch off either, so they were excellent. I was out of the mud in a few minutes.

Terribly hard to shoot running boars with neck head and arms all wrapped up in clothing and rifle elsewhere

Nah Mate,,,,,, just got home.
I very rarely if ever use internet on my phone.
Going out again tonite to try and locate the piggies again after just on six months.
Just hope one doesn't roll into the water cos I won't be able to retrieve it at the moment.
They are there,, cos they've been regularly seen over the last month.

Does that mean that there has been little rain at your hunting property?

Far from it Mate,,,,,,, we've had huge amounts of rain,, so much so that my ute sunk and bottomed out on my own property,,,,,,,,,,,, and
it took four days to get it out.

Hey there BLR,,,,,,,, take note of tonites posting time.
Headed out at 5-30pm,,,,,,,,, and home at 10pm

And just to rub a bit of salt in your recent hunting woes,,,,,,,, I didn't get any piggies,,,, but I did nail a dog at 7-30 pm.

I'll have to go out again in the morning to get it, cos walking through the high grass and lantana in the dark (in a moon boot) ain't much fun.

Well, I take it all back.
After getting up early this morning, and taking the quad out to the shooting property,,,,,, I located the downed "dog"
Only to discover it wasn't a dog,,,, just a big old fox,, Damm it.
