Peri-urban deer cull in Victoria

G'day,

This was in The Age today:

https://www.theage.com.au/national/vict ... 5a8si.html

Can we expect howls of anger from a certain section of the mostly city-based population demanding that deer be sterilised and 'rehomed'?

Mate it gets better. Had some professor in. And her understanding is that the deer will be tranquiliser then each with be euthanised by injection

The big thing that sticks out to me is the fuddery of the Australian Deer Association they are against declaring deer pests. Cant have every hunter going after them got to keep the status quo and maintain hunting licenses.

Yes, but the thought of 'violent' men with guns killing feral deer makes the gentle, caring urban folk shudder and tremble. Dart guns are OK, followed by a dose of a 'happy, sleep drug - I'm sure many of the caring set are familiar with 'happy' drugs of various kinds anyway.

In Victoria the deer will get a fine in the mail
I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned
