A blast from the past,, just look at the features included in the advert,,,,, sadly, most of which simply aren't available or possible these days.

12 month guarantee. Love it.
Try 12 hundred years.
But that ammo is the real bargain. That should be the add. Box of ammo comes with free rifle.
Australia post used to deliver it to your door too.
That business is still going and currently up for sale.

In '81, I bought a Sportco model 80 for $40, in kmart, and a box of 00s and walked off down the street with it and nobody batted an eye.

These days people get their vagitalia in a knot at the drop of a fart.
We are devolving at a great rate of knots

Yep, when I joined a rifle club after leaving school we could buy a NEW smelly still in the crate for One Pound ($2). I can't remember how many were in each crate 6 - 8 ??
The crate would be opened for the first time in front of you at times, and you would choose which one you wanted. What would an unopened crate fetch today? Don't know if they were consecutive serial numbers but WOW if they were !!!!!!!!!
Those were the days, if only you knew and had the cash.

Speaking of K Mart,,,,, I've got 22/250 and .308 Ammo boxes here that were originally purchased from K Mart.
Still got the original K Mart price stickers on them. $5.67

When you could peel a shiny new mill surplus .303 out of it's grease paper, hack the furniture back, drill and tap the action for a scope without feeling guilty.

Millenials must have an apoplexy when they hear this stuff. You are right about devolving Lazarus, every generation got weaker.

I remember kids bringing their 22's to school to shoot.

My dad and uncles as young teens would cycle into to the local store and pick up the farms order of explosive for blasting stumps.

My grandad would be put on a Clydesdale at the age of 5 and ride it 10 miles into town. The storekeeper would read his order, including food, ammo whatever, load it and him back onto the horse for the return journey.

I remember Kmart had .22's and shotguns when i was a kid.
When we moved onto the farm in the 70's we bought a CBC (Brazil made).410 for snakes from Cargills sports store in Wonthaggi after walked up to the cop shop to buy a (paper) firearms license.
From memory the .410 was about $40 and a box of Elley 2.5" shells was about $4.

fellas according to Gen Z all this post-millenial revisionism is figments of our imagination. The 60's, 70's and 80's were actually a bloodbath of gun duels with unlicenced firearms, unleashed dogs destroying whole towns, everyone drove drunk and crashed at least once a week too. :D
