Hunting is the best exercise

Hunting is the best exercise

I recently got one of these Fitbit things to track your activity if you know the ones. It records your steps, distance travelled, calories burned and all that other stuff health nuts (not me) are obsessed with.

Also sets goals for you to achieve which is the point of the story. I wore the thing out on an average day hunting and smashed all the goals. More than doubled them.

So yeah, when the wife is bitching that you don't do enough exercise tell her you're going hunting.

Fitbit says it's the best ;)

Tell it to the greens, wasting all that electricity at the gym.

I go to the gym twice a week and find it definitely improves my comp shooting as I'm not as tired for the last couple of events so my scores are remaining up where as others are dropping a bit and some older blokes not shooting the last event at all.

So I guess that while hunting is great cardio, regular work outs pumping iron increase my enjoyment of shooting no end!

Doesn't do my eyes any harm either! :-)

It's about the only thing in my routine that I could call cardio.

I'd sure as hell be in worse shape without it.

Between hunting and getting the dog recently, I've about tripled the exercise I get in a day before doing it all.

Definitely a winning combo for the old ticker.

You're doing stamina building stuff at the gym for this?

Or bulking up? Or both?

Actually I started going to the gym to strengthen my injured back (now pain free) and found by accident that my shooting improved.

Turned into of a bit of a pain junky now and feel guilty if I can't get there.

I feel guilty if food and drink get wasted.

You handle the gym side of things, I'll stay home and made sure it all gets eaten? :D

Fine Lorgar, as long as you don't turn into one of these FitBit fanboys who you can't shutup for hours about how good they are

It's not a FitBit forum

I took the shotgun and the neighbours dog for a two hour stroll around the farm this afternoon. Beats the crap out of walking down a fitness track and having to put up with cyclists and packs of idiot runners.

And I have tea for tomorrow night.

Well, when you're cold your body burns more energy to keep you warm.

So if you're drinking a cold one at the time, technically... yes?

:D
What is this "too many rifles" you speak of?
