Another spot of bunnie bustin

Post by bigfellascott » 14 Jul 2014, 6:30 pm

Well the kids have headed home and I thought I might go for a little walk and see if I can find anymore bunnies, so I headed off with the trusty little savage to a little warren complex I'd found earlier. I setup under a tree and began the waiting game, finally one decided to do the right thing and pop his head out for a bit of a look, I put the X-hairs of the Tasco 6x on his head and touched off the little 40gn Win Power Point Sub, with a resounding thud the bunny was down, another perfect head shot. :D

It was just after 5.30pm and overcast and I could still make him out clearly enough using the old Jap Tasco  I know, I know I should have been using a Swaro.

 It was a little spot about 1 hour from Sydney. I was just looking after my mates place whilst he was away, so though I'd clean up the rabbits and feral cat for him. :D

We'll done ! Hard to find any rabbits around here (brisbane) although I'd pass up any amount of bunnies to shoot a cat!

Do you use fox whistles when you're out for them, Scott?

Must work better with the smell of a fresh rabbit nearby too?

The whistles can work wonders as is.

You can whistle a particularly interested fox/dog in to about 20m at times.

Yeah mate, I use fox whistles and a Fox Pro Shockwave, no guarantee they will come in but generally I get something most of the time.

They're not shy at times.

A mate of mine was sat still waiting for deer and had a fox come up and sniff his boots before he legged it.
