Double edge knifes?

Post by redrum » 01 Aug 2014, 9:15 pm

Anyone got a real use for double edge knives?

I like a flat back just for leverage and a surface to push down on.

Or a gut hook is useful for people if they need one.

Double edge though? You just lose the leverage in exchange for nothing really? You can only be cutting with one side at once so why double edge?

Looking at some new knives has got me wondering.
Good news, everyone!

I used to carry a U.S. WWII Trench Knife. It was OK.

Now I carry a K-Bar Bowie-style U.S. Marine knife.

Aren't you all supposed to carry these?

I thought the Australian Government issued these to you all.

Ah, pig sticking. Not something I do so it hadn't occurred to me.

Guess I'm just a fan of the bowie like Josh :D
