Deer hunting bullet for .243 recommendations

Hi,

A mate of mine has just picked up a .243 for deer hunting.

I don't know enough about the .243 and lighter bullets to really suggest anything for him.

If I could get a few suggestions on what bullets to use to pass back to him it would be appreciated

Depends on the deer and the shooter, I run 75gr Speer hollow points on every thing from bunnies upto fallow deer then go to 95 gr nosler partition for anything bigger, of course poi changes but I've got recorded and simple adjust sighting to suit

If he hand loads I could give him some load data I've worked up that suits my rifle, if chasing factory ammo sorry can't help I usually buy cheap highland 90gr and fire off just for the brass!

i think 100 grain is the min,you may be able to go smaller if you are after hog,check the NSW regs

Don't forget he needs to check the species when hunting with his .243.

Can't do the big 3 there in VIC with it.
