A whole metre off? That's like 1/10th of a mm off! Rubbish! :D

Mailboxes are a big problem too.

I'm constantly losing my mail to a feral mailbox on my property. Eats all of it.

It lives in my front yard, but in suburbia not the country so I can't shoot it.

I yell at it and throw things at it but it never gets rattled and runs off. It's like it's bolted down or something.

not to bad, i haven't been to the range yet to test out how spot on it is but have tried it on reflective signs, it reads 3mtrs closer than it was and can get a 400mtr reading from a car sized object any smaller and you have to use the scan function. to measure i have used the cars odometer and a tape measure so not sure if its spot on :ugeek:
it seems to read consistently so if its out at least you can work out by how much ;)

for a cheap range finder it works well and would pick most things up, up to about 200 mtrs, talking rabbit size and using the scan, it also will reflect off bushes and trees (the leafy bits) which is handy. the scan function is the best bit as if you cant get a reading just scan it and most times you will get a reading,so much better than having to push the button while being as still as a rock

i like it, better than my old one by miles,,,,,,and yes the car sized object was in fact a car

Confirm at the range.

Tie the tape measure to the bench and drive on up from the firing line.

If nothing else it will be entertaining for everyone else
