I had a crossbow in the 1990's,they are considered a prohibited weapon here so while they can be owned in some circumstances none of them include hunting.

www.police.nsw.gov.au/services/firearms ... on_permits

If you click on Schedule 1 Prohibited weapons pdf you will see ninja throwing stars, nunchaku, kung fu sticks, slingshots etc are also considered prohibited weapons here, mace.pepper sprays etc are also illegal.
They didn't stop at guns when they tried to disarm Australians.

Regular bows we're allowed for hunting here, and target archery.

Not crossbows.

If you're thinking of moving to Aus and bringing your bow to hunt wrenchman I'd think again

Actually, he'd be welcome here in QLD where hunting with crossbows is a genuine reason for procession.

What's the story with crossbow licensing there? Same process as for a FA?

If your asking about QLD, it is a Cat M weapon over here, same process, genuine reason/need eg sports and/or recreational (hunting over here) use.

And you have to drive a Hyundai Tucson.

While every other car in the world has rotted the Hyundai keeps going and always looks like it just came out of the carwash. Even after you've mowed through zombies and fences
