What animal caused this?

Game hunting and large prey. Deer stalking, hunting with hounds. Boar, pigs etc., large prey, culling, hunting large feral animals.

What animal caused this?

As per the photo, anyone know what animal caused this? Could this have been from a deer?
Stumbled upon this tree and another also stripped just near it two weekends ago while out looking for hares...

I'll just say photo was taken in a SF in Vic which falls under a shire that is listed as 'Recognised Deer Habitat' ;)

I saw on the internet that Drop Bears might not be real. But then I heard your tourism department is going to unscrupulous lengths to cover it up. So I don't know what to believe.

I don't want to look up all the time because it makes my neck stiff and you have too much on the ground to worry about!

I can assure you that drop bears are very real in Australia. Infact we lose at least 20 people per year to drop bear attacks.
I have a mate with a farm that has an indigenous population of drop bears.
Here is a pic from my last hunting trip... I managed to bag 4 drop bears, a rabbit and a cute bush kitten with a collar... his name was Minx...
