New member - looking to get into the hunting scene

Post by Jack_london » 12 Oct 2015, 11:17 pm

Hi all,

I'm Jack, originally from London but relocated back to Australia (use to live in Brisbane for 5 years). I use to be a die-hard fisherman but 8 years in the UK with all the laws saw an end to that passion :?

In the last year I was in the UK I had the opportunity to go air-rifle shooting (targets) and clay pigeon shooting (shotgun - live ammunition) and enjoyed it immensely. I'm interested in exploring the hobby further and wondering if anyone might know any hunting tours that deal with small pests/vermins, whether they be the winged or small four-legged types?

Any advice, much appreciated,

I'm based in Melbourne Victoria and have my own car.

Kind regards,

Jack

Welcome to the forum, Jack.

I dunno about tours but Victoria has it share of pests.

State forests are good for hunting down there or you could approach property owners asking for permission to shoot in exchange for cleaning out some of their pest population.

Any range will do air rifle and I think all outdoor ranges you can do clays.

Looks up the SSAA ranges near you, any of the indoor ones you can do your air rifle or .22lr if you go that way too, and I think Little River is your big outdoor range there in Victoria where you can shoot everything.
