Days of yester year

Just thought I'd share this with you guys.

An advert from a 1961 "Outdoors" magazine.

Most of the duck species mentioned are now highly protected, and I think I'm correct in stating that the entire Coorong is now National Park.
What I found highly amusing was that it's an ad placed by the Sth Aus government, and there is absolutely no mention of hunting permits, licenses, or camping fees.
In fact, the government of the day seemed to only have one real concern,,,,, that hunters / fisherman were able to get a good nights rest.

I was there, well only just. Would have been about 16 in 1961 and you could walk down the street with a rifle over your shoulder and nobody cared.

Or jump on the bus with one.

You'd get a scene out of SWAT doing that now.
