Apparently we have hunted wedge tail eagles to near extinction, too, and then we blamed it on foxes.

Seriously???

Introduce the "Save the red fox" mob to the "Tassie Greenie mob", and sit back... let them battle themselves is what I say. ;-)

I just remembered my previous post in this thread in relation to the pet fox that I had for 14 years when I was a teenager.
(more info in that post above)

Here is a pic of him. It's not really good because it is only a photo of the photo,,, and the original is a bit faded.

Hope these people that were getting up in arms about shooting "our native foxes" see this,,,,,,,

This is a worm infested young one that I shot on the Grampians side of Ararat in approx 2013 or 2014

This is the extreme opposite of finding the middle ground on Issues. There was a post somewhere the other day off an old mulloway washed up on the bank in the swan river. Some of the theories were amazing.A boat hit it kids killed it with a star picket an angler caught it and left it there.global warming the cold war cats and dogs catholics?????,It died of old age and a bull shark didnt clean it up and it washed up on the tide, not one post thought of that

I've seen the same thing many times - as well as calves with their lips and ears eaten off (while they're being born), cows vulvas eaten off and all while they're still alive. Point this out to the "rescuers" and see what their response is.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

I'm seriously considering putting a submission together for Federal Government funding a program on capturing, training, and releasing (CTNL) foxes back into the wild.

I anticipate that initially setup costs, finding suitable land and buildings would be approximately 2 - 2.5 million with ongoing costs about 1/2 million per year. :D

The aim of the project would be to capture foxes, train and release them back into the wild with the aim to locate Cane Toads and eat them. This way it should rid the country of 2 feral pests in one go.

Ant thoughts?

Probably not as stupid as some of the things that get funded by the government. Come up with any hair-brained idea and tell them it's to do with "climate change" and your set.
There was a recent indigenous housing program in a town a few hours north-west of here that ran @ $200 million. That is in a town of < 1000 people.

Well RoginaJack that is interesting $600,000 to sterilize kangeroos
I sterilize my pickling jars in boiling water maybe the only way to stop the roos from breeding as well
