Just some photos of my hunting last week using a PNG black palm longbow,hand made quiver,and arrows made from tomato stakes,turkey feather,sinew,and tipped with teaspoon broadheads. Goat was shot from 20 paces,arrow entered behind the last rib angling forward into the offside shoulder,and the goat only made 50m. :-)

This has to be one of the most awesome things I've seen in the hunting word, Bear Grylls crossed with MacGyver wouldn't be as clever. Great work bigpete :)

Awesome gear! The best stuff is made from junk! Love to see you go fully tribal with some war paint on your mug - made from ground up ocher of course :-)

Great work Bigpete. :thumbsup:
Used to make my own arrows up using POC ( Port Orford Cedar) shafts. Loved the smell of those things. All long gone, broken from hunting. Last one I kept and even over 30 years later you can still get the smell if you snap a bit off. With both shoulders stuffed, my bows are just dust collectors now. :(

Mate,considering the amount of time and effort that went into making the equipment,then the difficulty of the hunt,followed by the utter perfection of the shot,I was bloody ecstatic ! Lol

According to hunting regs it isn't allowed:

Hunting Regulations - including Bag Limits wrote:Hunting Regulations - including Bag Limits]

General Regulations Applicable to all Species

There are a number of regulations applicable to all species, subject to an open season:
Hunting at night is prohibited. In this instance night means the period between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise;
The use of baits, live decoys, traps, snares, spears, bows and arrows, explosives, poison, bird lime and chemical compounds is prohibited;
Solid jacketed military ammunition is prohibited; and
The use of dogs to catch, kill, or injure wildlife is prohibited.
