Looking for a hunting buddy for deer in Vic

Post by P01ntman69 » 21 May 2017, 7:01 pm

Hi to everyone,

Just joined this forum and looking for someone to hunt with as previously buddies no longer hunt. Have gone out a number of times in the usual locations in Vic without luck - looking for people who are keen on going out and landing a Sambar or 2, private or public property. That said would be happy with fallow, pigs or goats.

I have all my own camping and hunting kit, 4x4, member of the SSAA, Deer stalkers licence and recent registered for Farmers Assist. Interested in stalking only - no dogs, quad bikes etc. and i don't drink and hunt.

I work in the city and need notice to plan around family and work - so last minute and week days are going to be a challenge.

Give me a yell if your interested - cheers.

Thanks for the PM shapeshsifter - I've PM'ed you back.

<<Genesis93>> - I'm east of Melb so typically head Gippsland way or north east of King Lake.

Cheers

Thank OB. Good to know I haven't crashed the system by hittting the enter button! I swear technology hates me!

Hi Aus Tac - I've tried around the Buxon area near the Power lines - didn't see to much sign around there and it's "popular".

As to my style - most of my outings lately have been a walk in the bush with a gun, but based on a mates success I think I'll be changing to finding that perfect spot and waiting.

Found a great spot up Omeo way, lots of fresh sign, unfortunately the deer were behind me - spooked em while leaving......next time though.....

Haven't done buxton myself yet but wouldn't mind having a look one day

For Vic terrain i'm thinking thats going to be the best technique, find a spot eaither a water source or main travel route etc , and set up a firing position

Easy to do mate always next time :)
