"get someone to take a black and white photo of you in your hunting gear, you might be surprised at the result. How your face, arms legs AND rifle stand out."

Good idea

They ate somehow. Realistically its just about increasing your odds though isn't it? I know heaps of game gets taken by guys wearing nothing more than jeans and an old flannel shirt but tilting the odds in your favour can't hurt - even if its not strictly necessary. Speaking for myself, most of my gear is camo. Which I then screw up by wearing both a blaze top and a blaze cap because I'm paranoid.

Apologies if someone posted this already - I know I saw it on a forum but I can't remember if it was here. But anyways - the real downside to making yourself invisible: https://youtu.be/8A8aWRvece8?t=2m

I wear a shemagh when its cooler, covers and breaks the face up really well. My only concern is a proud right nationalist might see me in the bush and bag me thinking they're doing the country a favour. Also great in winter when riding in the back of a ute.

I don't give a rats back end how good your camo is. Once the wind is blowing towards your game, or you bump something by accident or you move when game is looking towards you, your busted. Spending time on the basics is 10,000 x more important than spending money on the peripheral stuff like camo.

Zinc cream, white only was available then with food colouring mixed in. Don't laugh, beats a hole in the head!

Great if you don't move and don't have any plants that produce seed in your hunting area. Move in a suit and your still busted. Take all the weed seeds from one place to the next

A lot of great hunting tips in this thread, really interesting stuff. I might just make a separate thread to hear what else you blokes have to say.
