I would go for 223. Why, a little less specialised than the 204.
If you need to heavier projectiles are available for larger game.

Just a Tad but usable all the same but not a cal I would choose for the specific purpose but if it's all I had in hand at the time it wouldn't stop me from shooting one.

If you buy a howa in 223 buy some osa ammo they seem to love the stuff !

I did have photos on my old phone but it got wrecked not long ago. For me as a junior (and really more a target shooter) I have only got 3 foxes. 2 with my 20Ga at 25 and 40m and one with a 25-06 from 250m.
