I would suggest a 4x4 for a start, dont get fooled by the dpi maps some tracks look like highways , when you arrive no one as driven them for ages. The forest can get impenetrable in some areas so pick your area carefully , good luck azza

I did my first forestry hunt this weekend. Turns out satellite images don't give an accurate indication of the scrub your hunting in. As albat said, it can be impenetrable which leaves little usable hunting ground. We saw some old sign, but otherwise nothing but roos and wallabies. Not so much as a hare to shoot.

yup, I first travelled with an axe and promptly invested in a small chainsaw - some of the tracks have not been driven and have plenty of fallen trees.

Or it's gotten some heavy rain and a "road" is now a stretch of 2 feet deep ruts full of mud.

Always take a saw or axe preferably a chain saw and drag chain to clear fallen trees off the tracks i have been blocked in before now and had to clear a tree to get out!
