Shooting ranges in Perth

Hi all. Anybody know of any shooting ranges within a few hours of Perth cbd for me to sight my rifle in? Property i plan on doing some hunting on is about 6 hrs away from me so id like to find somewhere close by to sight in my rifle (.243 Winchester) and learn to shoot with it. I know of plenty of clubs in the area but as far as i know they all only shoot matches and certain disciplines, require certain stances, weight limits on the rifle etc. Id love to join a club, but im not too keen on entering any matches. Simply just looking for a place to shoot my rifle casually.

I'd be surprised if Whiteman Park doesn't have an open range you could practice at.

Armadale/Byford shoot on an old military range in the hills off Canning mills road its 4 mounds and you have to shoot 4 times to join.I went at 300m and sighted in my Howa .243 it goes from 100-600 so check the Calender and go on the day its at the distance you are looking for.a range officer will sit with you if its your first time and run you through the detail.I kept closing the bolt when the target was down but apart from that it was all good.Get your name on the board early or you will be there a while.I will be going again its a nice drive up through Kalamunda and the tavern had the best food.I was on target 3 and was hitting target 2 about 30 clicks to the right and up 13.I hope to get a rabbit over 300 metres soon just for the hell of it and I have a place to do it.its on every Saturday morning and starts at 8.00 am
