Opportunities to shoot Long range comp with factory rifles

Post by simmo » 05 May 2019, 12:17 pm

Hey all

The NRAA (the fullbore and F-Class guys) is creating a new class for factory build and Varmint rifles. Effectively a class that let’s people play at longer ranges on NRAA ranges and targets with your hunting gear or a factory Varmint rifle.

The big difference with this class is that now you can use muzzle breaks and and magazines to shoot this class of competition.

I thought I would share this incase anyone on this forum is keen to give the competition side of things a crack and do more shooting at longer ranges.

The highlights for the rules are
6.5kg max weight for rifle, bipod and scope
Harris style bipods only
Rear bags
Any calibre permitted that is within the local range Template permissions.

Chapter 23 in the document link below had all the details.

That's progress, good to see.

Clubs seem to be slow at attracting the broader shooting community.

This new class is something challenging that most shooters can get into.
