Tikka T3 .308 and Brno .22 range session.

Post by Gun nut. » 07 Jun 2019, 2:23 pm

Got a chance for a session at Ssaa belmont today. Took the tikka .308 and my Brno no.2 .
Been trying a few different loads for the tikka but I think I'll stick with this.
Love the accuracy of both these rifles. Pics are the best groups for the day.

I hope mine will shoot like that when I get around to reloading for it. that's good enough for hunting anything we have here in Oz that requires a 308 to roll it.

Not the best for expansion but excellent penetration. Exit wounds on large pigs not uncommon.

Scratch them from the test list then (I figured it might be the case) but some people say the 52gn versions go ok on goats etc so figured I'd suss these out for the bigger stuff. :drinks:

Thanks for the replies. I also forgot to mention with the tikka I highly recommend changing out the factory trigger spring to a reduced power spring. Helped to make my tikka even more accurate I reckon. This Spring upgrade allows your trigger to now break at between .8 and 2lb. It's an easy install too. These Spring upgrade kits are available on eBay for around $15. Well worth it in my opinion. Safe shooting!.

I recently leant my sauer 30-06 to a friend who has 5 x tikkas and won’t buy anything else. I like mixing up my rifles rather than being exclusive to a brand - anyway, he sent me a photo of him sighting in the sauer for his eyes...12mm x 3 shot group @ 100m...don’t you hate it when a mate shoots your gun better than you...well I bloody do.
