Which height bipod for hunting

Post by sooey » 20 Feb 2014, 12:35 pm

G'day,

After some feedback on bipod heights for hunting and shooting in the field, no range work.

Wondering what peoples experience with difference heights are and advice.

Thanks.

Hard to say without knowing where you hunt and what the terrains like but I find a 6"-9" Harris style bipod is always too short as most of the time I struggle to find a position flat enough for it or where the grass is short enough.

I've been using shooting sticks more as I can sit or stand with them.

Thinking I will keep an eye open for a 25" or 27" bipod for the seated position

Yeah, 6-9" is too short. Only takes a few bits of long grass to get in your way...

9-13" works good.

I tell ya, one of my mates local stores saw him coming...

He ended up getting some 3-6" BR bipod for hunting.

Totally, completely useless
